Why Should We Respect Democrats After Kamala Harris' Election?

Why should Democrats desire your respect? In the democratic process, the focus is on objective assessment, unity, and respect. Let us set aside personal prejudices, xenophobia, racism, and misogyny to evaluate the critical issue at hand.

Objectivity Over Prejudice
Try to put aside your bigotry, xenophobia, racism, and misogyny—and all the Republican lies and innuendo about her—and consider her career objectively. Kamala Harris has an impressive background and experience that sets her apart from many other candidates. Who would have been a better Democratic candidate? Who had more experience than she did? We already know the public would not vote for Hillary Clinton or Biden. Who have you got? Let us discuss and hear your perspective.

Behavior During the Election
It is important to recognize that our behavior during the election can significantly impact our narrative. However, it's not every Democrat who insults or disrespects others before the election. Many uphold a standard of respect and focus on the issues. Yet, there have been instances of appalling behavior, such as death threats, insulting candidates, suggesting lockups without trial, impeachment threats, and the display of pornographic images of the president’s son.

Respect and Morality
The need for respect does not stop with individuals; it extends to the stance and actions of political parties. Some individuals vote for criminals and rapists, reflecting deep-seated disapproval. Others vote for law-abiding citizens, showing a respect for the rule of law. Clarifying this, we recognize that tariffs are a sensitive issue, and understanding international economic policies is crucial. The Department of Defense is working to remove rapists from its ranks, yet some nominees with a history of criminality are being considered. The appointment of a leader without scientific knowledge for health and human services is another concern. Respecting the integrity of public positions is essential.

A Call for Collective Responsibility
We must question whether our decisions are rooted in rationality and respect for the individuals and their roles. Your demons may prevent you from seeing the positive, but personal suffering may lead to a greater understanding of others. Do not get angry with me; I am simply highlighting the reality of your actions and choices.

In conclusion, the respect we give Democrats, and for that matter, any political party, is not based on their past mistakes or actions, but on the choices and values they uphold in the present and future. Let us strive to respect each other, not just those we agree with, as respect is the cornerstone of democratic discourse.
