The Psychological Roots of Narcissistic Gangstalking and Holding 'Flying Monkeys' Accountable

As an educator, political civil rights, and human rights activist, I have been a targeted individual since 2004. My journey through the shadows of narcissistic gangstalking has led me to delve deeply into the psychological manipulation at the core of this phenomenon. This article aims to uncover the roots of this disturbing behavior, its historical context, and shed light on the individuals, often referred to as 'flying monkeys', who perpetuate the abuse.

The Psychology Behind Narcissistic Gangstalking

Gangstalkers are the pawns in a sinister theater, controlled by a narcissistic puppeteer who wields authority or influence. While this may sound like a plot from a psychological thriller, it is indeed a harsh reality for many targeted individuals.

Historically, society often attributed unusual behavior to supernatural forces or demonic possession. Traits like narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), such as excessive self-admiration and a lack of empathy, were perceived as manifestations of evil. In some cultures, severe consequences such as public humiliation, exile, or even death awaited individuals exhibiting such traits.

Historical Consequences of NPD-like Behavior

In various historical contexts, people showing signs of class B personality disorders like NPD were subjected to exorcisms or spiritual cleansing rituals intended to expel the perceived malevolence. The effectiveness of these rituals depended heavily on the beliefs and expertise of the spiritual leaders conducting them.

These rituals, though rooted in cultural and religious beliefs, had their basis in the societal fear of individuals who exhibited behaviors that were deemed unnatural or dangerous. This historical context illustrates the deep-rooted fear and misunderstanding of such behavior, often leading to severe repercussions for the individuals involved.

The Anatomy of Flying Monkeys

Understanding the psychology behind narcissistic gangstalking requires an examination of the roles played by 'flying monkeys.' These individuals assist the narcissistic abuser in their campaign of harassment and intimidation.

1. Loyalty to the Narcissist

Flying monkeys are fiercely loyal to the narcissist, often defending their actions even when confronted with evidence of abusive behavior. This unwavering loyalty can be attributed to a deep-seated need for validation and a fear of abandonment, which stems from their often toxic relationship with the narcissist.

2. Lack of Empathy

These individuals exhibit a startling lack of empathy, frequently dismissing the concerns of the targeted individual or actively participating in the abuse. This behavior can be linked to their own narcissistic tendencies or the neurological impact of prolonged abuse, which can lead to emotional numbing.

3. Susceptibility to Manipulation

Flying monkeys are easily manipulated by the narcissist. They fall for lies and deceit, sometimes being coerced into participating in the abuse. Their susceptibility can also be a result of their own underlying psychological issues, which make them vulnerable to manipulation.

4. Group Behavior

Operating as a group, flying monkeys work in tandem to harass and intimidate the targeted individual, often recruiting others to join their ranks. This group dynamics further perpetuates the cycle of abuse, reinforcing the power dynamic established by the narcissist.

5. History of Enabling

Many flying monkeys have a history of enabling the narcissist's behavior, often due to a codependent relationship. This enabling behavior can be rooted in their own past experiences with toxic individuals, leading them to unconsciously replicate these dynamics.

6. Machiavellian Traits

They may exhibit Machiavellian traits, such as manipulation, deceit, and an overwhelming desire to please the narcissist. These traits are often a coping mechanism for dealing with their own emotional torment and the abuse they are being subjected to.

7. Lack of Personal Boundaries

Flying monkeys often disregard personal boundaries, willing to violate those of the targeted individual as well. This behavior is a direct reflection of their own lack of self-boundaries and their role in perpetuating the abuse.

Holding 'Flying Monkeys' Accountable

While the mindset and behavior of 'flying monkeys' are deeply entrenched in the psychological manipulation and enablership perpetuated by narcissists, there are steps that can be taken to hold them accountable and mitigate the damage caused.

Firstly, recognizing the patterns of behavior and understanding the underlying psychological dynamics is crucial. Secondly, seeking support from trusted individuals, such as friends, family, or professionals, can provide emotional support and guidance. Additionally, legal and supportive resources, such as abuse hotlines and legal aid services, can help in understanding the legal options available and providing a pathway for justice.

Lastly, advocating for greater awareness and education about narcissistic gangstalking and the roles of enablers is essential. By fostering a society that understands and addresses these issues, we can prevent further abuse and support those who find themselves caught in the web of manipulation.
