The Dangers of White Knights and Incels in Modern Society
Within the complex landscape of modern gender dynamics, we encounter various subcultures and behaviors that can contribute to harmful attitudes and actions. Two notable groups that often come under scrutiny are white knights and incels. While both groups operate with ostensibly benevolent motives, their methods and approaches can lead to serious negative consequences for women and men alike.
White Knight Definition and Behavior
A white knight is someone who frequently defends and tolerates bad behavior from women, often without providing reasonable assessment. They believe that women are always the innocent victims and, consequently, rush to their defense regardless of the circumstances. White knights are characterized by the following key traits:
Tolerating and defending bad behavior, bad attitudes, and jerk behavior from women, simply because they are women. Considering a woman's sexual choices as a result of being manipulated by "douchebags." This implies a deeply gendered understanding of power and agency. Rushing to defend a woman no matter what, because she is a woman, even when she is wrong. This often stems from a misplaced sense of obligation due to their gender. Spending a lot of time outraged about the “bad” guys that women date, as a way to protect their chosen women. Believing that women really are “better” than men and publicly apologizing on behalf of all men. This reinforces an unbalanced and arguably unrealistic view of gender. Frequently issuing public apologies to women on behalf of men, which can be seen as a way to obtain validation.Men who disagree with white knights are often labeled as incels or misogynists, further polarizing the debate and creating a hostile environment for open discussion.
The Problem with White Knights
White knights operate with the assumption that women are inherently divine and special, a perspective that is applied to all women, regardless of individual circumstances. This belief is often so blind that these men are unable to recognize when their female friends might be mistreated by men. Without self-respect, they lack the ability to establish any form of respect, as they accept abuse from female friends as a preferred trait. Eventually, these men (referred to as 'sims') may lose their minds after years of being treated as doormats, leading to situations where they end up assaulting women out of pent-up rage.
White knights often justify their behavior as a noble and selfless act, with no real concern for genuine care or liking for women. Instead, it is a pathetic attempt to garner attention and praise from women due to low self-esteem. While these individuals may claim to be idealistic and caring, they frequently engage in manipulative and calculated behavior to reinforce their narrative and gain approval.
Incels and Their Behaviors
Incels, short for "involuntary celibates," take a different approach by openly hating women and focusing on the perceived grievances from non-sexual relationships. This group is notorious for their perceived hostility towards women and often resort to extreme behaviors and even violence in their opposition to women.
Incels are easily recognized as they often make their stance against women very clear. In contrast, white knights operate in stealth mode, attempting to maintain a positive image while still engaging in behavior that is ultimately harmful and manipulative.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while both white knights and incels can be considered problematic, they approach these issues in different ways. White knights may seem less dangerous at first glance due to their seemingly benign actions, but their behavior can lead to long-term psychological harm for themselves and others. Incels, on the other hand, present a more immediate danger due to their open hostility and potential inclination towards violence.
The problem with both groups is their enabling of a toxic gender dynamic where women are consistently seen as victims and men are consistently portrayed as perpetrators or culprits. Addressing this issue requires a multifaceted approach, including education, awareness, and constructive dialogue to build a more equitable and respectful society.
