Suggesting Friends on Facebook: A Comprehensive Guide

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for suggesting friends on both mobile devices and computers, using profile links and group messages. Whether yoursquo;re on the go or at your desk, connecting your friends on Facebook has never been easier.
Method 1: Sending a Profile Link on a Phone or Tablet
Open Facebook on your phone or tablet. Itrsquo;s the blue icon with a white
Open one of your friendsrsquo; profiles. You can search for your friend by tapping the magnifying glass icon near the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap the blue-and-white Friend icon. This icon displays the silhouette of a personrsquo;s head and shoulders and appears to the right of your friendrsquo;s name.
Tap Copy Link. This is usually found under your friendrsquo;s profile picture.
Go to the other personrsquo;s profile. With the profile link copied, you can now send it to the other party via a new Facebook message. If you wish to send the profile link via email or another messaging app, just paste the copied URL into the relevant message field.
Tap the blue Message button. This is located below the personrsquo;s name at the top of their profile. Ensure you have the Messenger app installed; if not, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
Tap and hold the typing area at the bottom of the message. A menu will appear.
Tap Paste to insert the profile link into the message.
Tap the Send button. Once the message is sent, it will appear as a clickable link. Your friend can tap this to open the profile and then tap to send a friend request.
Method 2: Sending a Profile Link on a Computer
Open Facebook if you are not already logged in. You can access the search bar at the top of the page to find the profile you want to link.
Highlight the web address. This appears at the top of your browser and should look like url. You can usually highlight the entire address at once by clicking the address bar. Alternatively, click the address bar once and press Ctrl A (PC) or Cmd A (Mac) to select all.
Press Ctrl C (PC) or Cmd C (Mac) to copy the profile link to your clipboard.
Go to the other personrsquo;s profile. Copying the link allows you to send it via a new Facebook message or another messaging or email app. To paste the copied URL into the message, right-click the typing area and select Paste.
Click the Message button, which is located in the row of buttons to the right of the personrsquo;s name in the cover image. This opens a new message to your friend at the bottom-right corner of the page.
Right-click the typing area and select Paste. The typing area contains the text that says ldquo;Type a messagerdquo; or similar. Your friend can click the clickable link to see the profile and then add you as a friend.
Press Enter or Return to send. Your friend can now click the link and view the profile, and if they like, add you as a friend after viewing the profile.
Method 3: Sending a Group Message on a Phone or Tablet
Open the Facebook Messenger app, which features a blue and white chat bubble with a lightning bolt inside. You can find it either on the home screen or in the app drawer.
If you donrsquo;t have Messenger, you will need to install it either from the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or the Play Store (Android).
Tap the New Message icon, which appears at the top-right corner of Messenger as a pencil and paper icon.
Select the two friends you want to connect by scrolling down and tapping both friends in the list, or use the search bar to find them quickly.
Type a message to introduce them. This is your chance to make the connection meaningful.
Tap the Send button. This creates a group message where any reply from you or your friends will be delivered to all members of the group.
Optionally, leave the conversation if you donrsquo;t want to be part of it. Tap the names of the people yoursquo;re communicating with at the top of the chat and select ldquo;Remove Merdquo; from the options.
Method 4: Sending a Group Message on a Computer
Ensure you are logged into Facebook. To find and open Messenger, click the Messenger icon in the blue bar at the top of the page. It features a chat bubble containing a lightning bolt.
Click New Message in the menu that expands. It is located at the top-right corner of the menu.
Add both friends to the conversation. Start typing their names; as you do, a list of search results will appear. Click the correct friend once you see them in the results and then do the same for the other friend.
Type a message to introduce them. Start typing into the blank typing area at the bottom of the message. For example, you could say ldquo;I think you two would get along great!rdquo;.
Press Enter or Return to send the message. This creates a group message. Any messages you or your two friends type in response will be delivered to all members of the group.
If you donrsquo;t want to be part of the conversation, click the gear icon at the top-right corner of the message, select ldquo;Remove Merdquo;, and then choose your preferred option.
