My JEE Advanced 2022 Results and Reflections

My journey to JEE Advanced 2022 was a rollercoaster of emotions. Praying for a miracle, I never harbored high expectations for my result. Having secured 19 marks in the JEE Main 2021, I moved to a different course track. Unfortunately, in JEE Advanced 2022, I scored a mere 67 marks, with a Chemistry total of 36, Physics of 11, and Mathematics at an astounding 20.

Unexpected Success

Surprisingly, despite my poor performance, I managed to secure a CRL of 5701 under OBC-NCL category. The site was crashing when I logged in, increasing my stress. However, after some advice from YouTube comments, I accessed the portal in Incognito mode and saw that CRL 5701 OBC NCL 1126 really was my result. The disbelief was palpable, and I hugged my parents in joy, although I managed to maintain composure to hide my emotions. This joyful moment was beautifully captured by my parents' emotional reactions. I am now an IITian and have enrolled in the instrumentation engineering program at IIT Kgp.

Lessons from the Journey

My story is not just about the result; it's about the journey and the lessons I learned. Initially, I was slated to pursue a specific course but ended up with a rank that required a shift in plans. I wrote to express my satisfaction, even though my chemistry and physics scores were disappointing. My last moment PYQ preparation and sixth sense helped me manage the tough paper. The experience taught me that preparation is crucial, but so is analyzing past trends and preparedness.

Reflecting on the process, I realized the importance of proper revision, problem-solving, and consistent practice. My preparation included multiple mock tests with varying scores, culminating in a final score of 37 out of 180. Even though I missed the cut-off for the general category by barely a mark, I gained a CRL that allowed me to pursue my dreams.

During the result announcement, I visited a Kuldevi temple with my family, seeking blessings for my future endeavors. The visit was a moment of solace and strength.

Future Aspirations

With the result came this year’s journey to a new beginning. I plan to take a year off and prepare for JEE Advanced 2023 with a renewed focus on revision and problem-solving skills. My performance has shown me that while preparation is key, a balanced approach and mindset are equally important.

This experience is not just about clearing the bar—it’s about growing as a person. I hope to carry forward these lessons into my future academic and professional journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this challenging and fulfilling process.
