Is God Your Eternal Companion?
Is God Your Eternal Companion?
Understanding the Presence of God
God is a concept that is difficult to define and often leaves us with more questions than answers. For many, including myself, God is a source of unwavering belief and strength. If you maintain a strong belief in every step of your life, then God is always by your side. It is crucial not to let anything undermine your belief, as long as it does not harm yourself or others.
Our existence is diverse, encompassing humans, animals, plants, and various forms of life. We are here to live our lives to the fullest and respect the right of others to do the same. By striving to uplift others' lives without destroying them, we can find a unique kind of happiness.
True happiness can only be experienced when we make someone else happy. The more happiness we are able to generate, the more we feel the presence of God in our daily lives.
Divine Presence Throughout Life
Personal and spiritual texts and experiences highlight the pervasive role of God in our lives. One such example is the verse from the Bhagavad Gita, which emphasizes God's omnipresence in every heart:
As Paramatma, I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Veda am I to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Veda and I am the knower of the Veda.
As explained by Srila Prabhupada, the supreme Lord is present as the Paramatma in every heart. He initiates all activities and provides the knowledge through various mediums, including the Vedas. The Lord is not only all-pervading but also localized in every individual heart. He bestows different results from past actions and is the Supreme Lord guiding people to return to the spiritual world.
Eternal Witness and Guide
According to Bhagavad Gita, the Lord witnesses all actions of the inhabitants of this world and awards the consequences based on their past deeds. He is the source of wisdom and guidance, leading people back to their spiritual roots. The Vedas, under the direction of the Supreme Lord, offer the right knowledge and understanding of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. This knowledge is essential for our spiritual development and ultimate goal, which is to become one with the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
The Bhagavad Gita goes on to say, "antah-pravistah sankhyena satah," which means God is present within us as the super soul, ensuring that we continue our work from where we left off after each birth. Despite forgetfulness, the Lord provides us with the intelligence to carry on according to our previous actions.
Conclusion: God's Continuous Presence
If you believe in God, you can be certain that He is always with you. Through the Vedas and Krishna's teachings, we are given the tools to understand our life's purpose and the path to spiritual fulfillment. By following the guidance of the Supreme Lord, we can experience true happiness and a deep sense of God's presence in our lives.
Therefore, it is true that whether you refer to Him as one of the names of God, such as Ek Onkar, or understand Him as the Supreme Lord, God remains an eternal companion in every aspect of our existence.
