If I Could Be Another Race: My Ideal Choice

Being multiracial, the question of which race I would choose to be is not a new one. While exploring this concept, I've evaluated various races and their potential benefits and drawbacks. Curiously, my preferences often revolve around maintaining or enhancing my current intellectual capacity of 120, which is 1.6 standard deviations above the global mean of 100, leading to an approximate IQ of 145.

Given the profound cultural, physical, and intellectual attributes that each race offers, I've narrowed down my choices by ruling out any race that could be perceived as inherently biased or negative. My goal is to select a race that will provide a better quality of life and aligns well with my personal desires and traits.

The Racism Factor

Before delving into my preferred race, it's important to note that my decision is based on logic, not prejudice. The concept of race is a social construct, and hence, any negative connotations associated with a particular race do not influence my choice. In fact, I aim to choose a race that can provide me with a more fulfilling and diverse existence. Anything but my current race sounds appealing, but with a firm stance against racism, I'm open to exploring options that could enrich my life.

Considering Non-Human Races

Initially, my inclination was towards non-human races, specifically considering alien races from science fiction. The idea of being a Vulcan, an Elf from Tolkien's universe, a Wookie, a Coluan, or a Kryptonian seemed alluring. These races offered supernatural abilities, such as immortality and superhuman strength, which could greatly enhance my life. However, upon further reflection, I realized that these races often come with significant downsides, including the need to suppress anger, adapt to a new planet, or manage enhanced senses.

Ultimately, my selection process led me to consider the Tolkien Elf. Despite the lack of pointy ears, these elves are immortal, which aligns well with my desire to live a long life. The compounded advantage of immortality combined with the potential for long-term mental and physical well-being made this a strong candidate. The idea of having the ability to influence generations and cultures over centuries was quite intriguing.

Why Stick with a Dusky Wood Elf?

While the prospect of becoming an immortal elf was appealing, the practicalities of such a transformation highlighted some challenges. My preference for maintaining a certain level of physical and intellectual capacity drove me towards a more balanced choice. Enter the dusky wood elf, a half-human, half-wood elf hybrid. This option provides the best of both worlds: the wisdom and longevity of elves, combined with the versatility and adaptability of humans.

I envisioned myself as a dusky wood elf with a full beard, allowing me to explore various hairstyles while maintaining a striking appearance. The wooden shade of my skin wouldn't be too pronounced, but it would still set me apart. This choice resonated with me as it offered a perfect blend of immortality and a remarkable appearance.

Why the Human Race?

While the idea of being a different race has been fascinating, I ultimately decided to stay true to the human race. I found that the challenges and adaptability inherent in being human, coupled with the unparalleled diversity of experiences and cultures, made the human race the most ideal choice. Being human allows me to engage with a wide array of cultures, enjoy the physical and intellectual challenges, and form meaningful relationships with a rich and varied global community.

Flying Avian Option

While the human race offers a balanced and diverse existence, the allure of flight is not lost on me. Imagine the thrill of gliding through the skies, experiencing the world from a unique perspective. Birds represent freedom, agility, and a sense of adventure that humans often strive for. If I could be anything else, opting for an avian side would be a dream come true. The ability to fly would undoubtedly make my life more exciting and adventurous.

Half-Orc Consideration

Another consideration was the concept of a half-orc. Half-orcs often carry a unique blend of physical strength and a warrior spirit. While this race might suit someone with a more rugged or adventurous personality, it didn't align with my current lifestyle and desires. The half-orc race might be more appealing to someone seeking a more aggressive or combat-oriented life.

Nevertheless, having the option to consider non-human races has been an enlightening process. It has highlighted the various aspects that different races offer, such as immortality, physical strength, and adaptability. However, the human race remains the most balanced and fulfilling choice for me. It offers a combination of intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to experience a wide range of cultures and lifestyles.
