Muting Status Updates

Another way to temporarily hide status updates is to Mute a contact. Here's how to do it:

Select the person whose status you want to mute. Look for a Mute button or option on the top right corner of the screen. Once muted, their updates will appear in a separate section named Muted Updates below the regular set of viewed statuses. Auto-browsing through statuses of other contacts will not lead you to the muted contacts' statuses, providing a personalized and filtered experience. However, you can always view the mutes status by going to the contact's profile manually.

Conclusion

No one should ever see your status unless you specifically allow it. These settings not only protect your privacy but also give you control over the information you share. If you find the steps intricate or if you need more detailed instructions for a specific app, feel free to let us know which messaging app you are using!
