Method 1: Searching for Friends
1. Open Snapchat on your device.
2. Tap your profile photo, which is the yellow-and-white ghost icon on your Home screen or in your app list.
3. Tap 'Add Friends' which is found under your profile photo.
4. Type your friend's name into the search bar at the top of the screen. As you type, a list of matching results will appear. Remember, Snapchat users have two names: a username and a display name. You can search using either.
5. If your friend is not appearing in the search, ask them for their username as their display name might not be their real name.
Note: This adds the person to your friends list, and they will see that you've added them, giving them the chance to accept or decline your request.
Method 2: Adding Contacts from Your Phone
1. Open Snapchat on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap the profile photo which is the yellow-and-white ghost icon on your Home screen or in your app list.
3. Tap 'Add Friends.'

4. Tap 'Accept' to accept a friend request. You will see a list of friends who have added you, and you may need to scroll down to see all requests.
