Do I Care If My Followers Unfollow Me?
Do I Care If My Followers Unfollow Me?
At this point, no, not especially, except maybe under certain circumstances. If more than 10 or 20 people unfollow me, it might be a cause for concern, because these individuals often request inappropriate content such as nudes, dates, or explicit sexual materials. However, in most cases, I don't let these unfollowings impact me negatively, as writing and creating content is more about personal enjoyment than anything else.
Why Following Doesn’t Matter Much
I am not a professional content producer, and no one asks me to create content of a certain quality or format. Therefore, I don't have a clear idea of what my followers might prefer. If someone were to give me a specific content task and then unfollow, I might feel a sense of failure. However, pleasing people on a more intimate and personal level, such as through companionship and lovemaking, is crucial for me. Some of this approach impacts how I produce content.
Internalizing External Feedback
It's natural to feel some level of internalization when external feedback comes. However, I can't let these followers dictate how I create content. I regularly engage with about 100-200 followers who I know by name and with whom I have ongoing conversations. If one of them stops following, I might wonder if there is something wrong, but I understand that this is a valid concern and not necessarily a reflection of my content.
Managing Paying Patrons and Sexual Partners
I have a paid Patreon site that fluctuates regularly. I often can't keep up with the demand from patrons, as my priority is to maintain balance in my personal life rather than solely fulfilling ongoing obligations. Similarly, I have an irregular number of sexual partners, which also means that I can't cater to everyone's desires all the time. People's feelings and expectations can be a burden, but they are natural human experiences.
People-pleasing and Focusing on Enthusiasm
People-pleasing is challenging, and I have to fake relationships with many people as a form of social interaction. However, focusing on preventing unfollowers is not a priority as content production should remain a form of passion, not an obligation. Some individuals view the acquisition of followers as a game or a challenge, but this approach is flawed. Using followers as a metric for success is belittling.
Conclusion: Does It Matter?
The answer is somewhat ambivalent: probably not so much, but maybe. Unfollowers are a part of any online community, and while it's natural to feel some impact, it's crucial to maintain a focus on personal enjoyment and satisfaction.
