Are There Any Perfectly Intelligent and Attractive Individuals?

For a long time, it was believed that achieving both intelligence and attractiveness made one a candidate for perfection. However, with the advancements in technology and societal changes, the pursuit of perfection seems impossible. Historical figures like King Solomon and Plato were both extraordinarily wise and intelligent, yet they were not without controversy, with Solomon being notably cruel.

The Technological Age and Mental Challenges

With the advent of the technological age, the challenges faced by intelligent individuals have shifted. Many brilliant minds are now grappling with mental health issues, personal dilemmas, or having to deal with physical illnesses. This shift reflects a broader societal struggle with balancing intelligence and personal well-being.

The common narrative is that any individual who seems perfect in every way lacks an intellectual legacy. If they do achieve wealth, they might cause suffering to the less fortunate, or they might be socially dysfunctional with an unclear legacy. Beyond that, they could be devoted to pseudoscience, have experienced significant tragedies, or deal with serious health issues such as mental psychosis or chronic pain.

Interestingly, many individuals who are intellectually great do not end up being rich, and they might also be very difficult to associate with due to their complex behavior. Narcissism, shady dealings, and even involvement in criminal activities are also not uncommon.

Examples of Perfectionism in Public Figures

Public figures, especially those in entertainment, often live dangerously. Some may have reputations for being sexual perverts, engage in shady business deals, deal drugs, or squander their wealth. Their lives are beset with various challenges that often overshadow their intellectual or physical gifts.

Even in academia and the arts, where one might expect perfect individuals, reality often presents a different picture. Many mathematicians remain unknown, while musicians are often remembered for their failures. Chess masters tend to squander their earnings, and actors might end up in precarious situations. Journalists face the risk of death in their line of work, and biographers often sell their souls to wealth.

Personal Reflections on Perfectionism

Even personal attempts at perfectionism can be fraught with challenges. Take myself as an example. Here are some of the highs and lows:

Positive Attributes

Invented the concept of perpetual motion. Popularized a formula for souls. Is a prolific writer. Has a talent for art. Attractive in a way that men find appealing. Has never experienced depression.

Negative Attributes

Has brain damage and suffers from headaches most of the time. Has big ears and is not respected by others. Struggles with paranoiac schizophrenia. Has a effeminate appearance and is not deemed a muscle man. Net worth is insignificant (around $16,000). Even with achievements, IQ tests have not shown genius. Remained a virgin until the age of 36. Never experienced euphoria, possibly due to brain damage or opposition to drugs.

Perfectionism, in its many forms, often leads to a complex array of challenges. Whether it’s mental health issues, personal failures, or societal scrutiny, the pursuit of absolute perfection seems to bring more struggles than rewards. This article aims to highlight the reality that many intelligent and attractive individuals face, and to encourage a more compassionate and realistic understanding of what perfection means.
